Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a game based around the idea that any Hollywood star can eventually be linked to Kevin Bacon by matching the 'shared' actors between their films. (There's a better explanation here). The number of links between the actor and Kevin Bacon is known as their 'Bacon Number'.

'Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon's pet Llama' is our version. It's a based around the idea that you, yes you, can link your hideous, humdrum self to the effervescently dashing Kevin Bacon simply by connecting your pets. You can have your own 'Bacon Llama Number'.

For example, if you own a dog, then you're linked to Catherine Zeta Jones, who has a daschund. That would be your first link. Catherine also owns a lemur. Funnily enough, so does Sir Anthony Hopkins (link 2), who also has four Eagles, just like the late Christopher Reeve (link 3), who had a Garter Snake, just like... And so on.

To play: First of all, significantly lower your expectations of being impressed when you click that link.

Then:

Select your pet from the chart. (Dogs and cats are the most common pets and so have been placed at the bottom). This is your starting animal. Count upwards towards Bacon. The shortest number of intervening animals is your very own Bacon Llama Number. Challenge your friends! (Bear in mind if they've got a cool pet, you're at a distinct disadvantage from the outset).
